Jerry Stringer had a great time at Cottington last week, landing his pb, this 43lbs 8oz gem:
“Friday 03/10/15 at 06:25 a.m. Very slow take at first, then as I applied pressure the fish went like a steam train. Took about 20 mins to bring it in. I got it in the net and placed the net in my weigh-sling before lifting it from the water. Unhooked the fish and floated it in the lake until I could get someone to photograph it for me.
Enter Darren. I took the fish and cradled it. Darren took the photos. When we weighed it, the sling was touching the floor, as it sunk into the soft verge. We repositioned the tripod and then weighed the fish again. The rest is history. lol

I started fishing at Cottington in 2004. At that time I had not had a 20lb fish. All my new pb’s over the past years have all come from lake pepper. I have had countless 20lb specimens covering all weights in the 20lb category. I have had thirteen fish of 30lb plus, and now this awesome specimen of 43lbs 8ozs. My new pb.
Lake Pepper continues to give results, improving every time I fish the water. My favourite and only venue. The condition of the fish are second to none, all healthy and clean fish.
I feel this venue has so much more to offer and to reveal. The fish run to 49lb in this water, but I somehow feel that Pepper has a few more secrets to reveal.
The lake is pristinely maintained and a pleasure to spend long sessions at. It must be said that the bailiffs on the complex are extremely helpful and friendly. There are not many venues to match Cottington in my opinion. I will continue to enjoy this venue for many years to come.
A brilliant complex, well maintained and run. Keep it up guys.
France? Who needs it with a water such as this.
Jerry, many thanks for taking the time to send this in. We’re glad you like what we’re doing and hope that we can provide you with some great fishing for years to come.
